Custom Logos are always fun to work on – especially when we get to bust out the ‘ol pencils and sketchpad. Valley Automotive asked us to develop a mascot for their business that would be instantly recognizable. While he’s not as cool as a bear like Henry – he’s still pretty awesome! The images below show some of the sketches that didn’t make to cut, but helped us develop the end result you see here. This was a truly collaborative process and a huge success.

Awesome Illustrated Logo
Initial Project Summary:
Some businesses have a mascot. Others create one. Valley Automotive came to us with that goal in mind. They wanted to create a unique character that could be used on all of their material – and I mean all of it. The building signs, window signs, vehicle graphics, brochures, business cards and letterhead. We combined forced with a noted illustrator to work through several rounds of revisions – starting with sketches drawn by hand.
Developing a Great Logo:
Once “Zeke” was solidified, we took over, turning the sketch into the vector graphic that you see here. This allowed the client to scale the logo to any size, and pull pieces apart for things like single color window graphics, vehicle graphics, apparel like large hooded sweatshirts, billboards – the works. This is critical for any professional logo.
Most Important Takeaway:
Mascots have the potential to be instantly recognizable and their names can stick with customers better than a business name alone.
