Vinyl lettering (or vinyl signage) offers 24/7 advertising when applied to a vehicle or storefront window. Many of our customers like to take advantage of this service – especially since the initial design, setup and application are relatively inexpensive.

We’ve had several customers apply lettering to their personal vehicles to promote their small businesses or side hustles, and a number of larger businesses have had us letter their entire fleet. Things like dealership logos for entire car lots, or contact information across several work vans. We’ve also lettered forklifts, workbenches and other large items used internally – think about all of the things you would find in a distribution center or manufacturing plant. High school logos or mascots are also a great way for booster clubs to raise money for their schools.

Initial Project Summary:
After an unfortunate accident (that everyone walked away from) the old vehicle lettering was demolished… along with the old car. So, when the new car was purchased we were asked to provide a similar design for the new ride.

This is a testament to the effectiveness of vinyl lettering. After the accident the customer could easily have said “well, that old lettering provided no value for my business so I don’t need to pay for more on the new vehicle” – but he didn’t. He realized that his vehicle had become instantly recognizable in the local community, and he wanted to maintain that visibility.

The vinyl simply had to be reapplied.

Key Vinyl Lettering Features:
Vinyl lettering can be applied using multiple colors or as a 1-color “stamp” design. There are multiple grades or levels of vinyl quality for both indoor and outdoor use, and depending on the type selected you can usually expect a lifespan of 5, 7, or in some cases 10 years. The local climate and the wear & tear on the vehicle also have a direct impact on the signage lifespan.

In this case multiple colors were used to stay withing the brand standards set by Farmers Insurance. Once we became a recognized vendor the last thing we wanted to do was goof on their rules. We also used the old standard: 3M Scotchcal Series 50. This should provide a solid 5 years of advertising.

The Most Important Takeaway:
The logo is recognizable nationally – but by keeping it front and center no matter where this agent goes they raise local awareness and spark conversation.
