Search Engine Optimization (SEO) & Analytics.

SEO and Analytics are crucial tools for zeroing in on your target audience.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) involves the fine-tuning of your website to target certain demographics and keywords. This can usually be done "behind the scenes" without changing the look of your site. SEO makes your website work harder and is much more than simple meta tag creation. Many developers and templates stop with these tags, but they account for less than 5% of your search engine rank according to Google. It's a good idea to take note of the things Google looks for - because they can claim over 80% of the 4 billion searches that occur daily.

Once you make changes to your site you can monitor the effectiveness through analytic programs that track visitors. This data gathering is in no way unethical, and it provides powerful insight that can be used to refine a website and bring it to its maximum potential. Learn which online marketing initiatives are cost effective and see how visitors actually interact with your site. Make informed site design improvements, drive targeted traffic, and increase your conversions and profit.

What are the benefits of SEO and Website Analytic Reports?

  • Focus in on your target audience.
SEO allows you to target specific keywords and phrases that potential customers are searching for.
  • Grab your share of organic web traffic.
Ethical (white hat) SEO methods boost your Google rank which results in more FREE traffic.
  • Spend your hard earned money wisely.
Stop wasting money on expensive phone book ads and mediocre online marketing campaigns.
  • Discover what's generating traffic and capitalize.
Track your visitors to see where they came from, where they went, and what they wanted.
  • Streamline your online approach.
Learn what your visitors are interested in, and more importantly, what they're NOT interested in.

Can you guarantee I'll be #1 in Google searches for "Pizza Place"?

No company can guarantee search engine results, and no one knows the Google algorithm that ranks websites. It is a closely guarded secret. There are those that claim to know, who can get your site to the #1 spot quickly using unethical "black hat" techniques. But once Google finds out (and they always do) your site will be penalized or permanently banned from their listings. SEO takes time, but if done correctly (using "white hat" techniques), it can produce long term results.

Common questions and misconceptions about SEO and Analytics:

SEO means editing meta tags.
The process of SEO involves modifying a website, waiting, gathering analytic data and repeating or refining. Proper SEO takes time and effort. Meta tags are still important but not critical as they do not drastically affect search engine rank.

Getting my site optimized is a one time thing.
SEO is an ongoing process. It is never completely finished because once you gain a high search engine rank it takes work to maintain it. You are not at war with the search engines, but you need to refine your approach to provide what they are looking for.

Changes to my site will negatively affect my search engine rank.
The exact opposite is true. Search engines want to see that a site is active and full of new content. This has a positive effect on rank. If you are trying to climb the Google ladder, you can not afford to blow off updating your site!

SEO will negatively affect the look of my site.
Not necessarily. Content can be easily edited without affecting aesthetics. Many of the changes occur behind the scenes where they will go unnoticed by normal (human) visitors. SEO does not have to impact the design aspect of a website.

Tracking clients is unethical.
Tracking clients does not present you with anything other than where they went while on your site, how they got there, what they were looking for, etc. It does not deliver personal information that could be used maliciously.

XYZ Corporation says they can deliver an SEO campaign in a month.
TRUE SEO TAKES TIME. Current search engines are far to advanced to fall for the old unethical tricks like "link farming" and "invisible text". There is no quick fix when it comes to SEO, but let us reassure you that putting in the extra time and effort will produce the best chance for long term results.

XYZ Corporation says they can guarantee me a specific Google rank.
Watch out! Any company that guarantees a specific rank probably plans to use black hat methods and will not be able to keep your site at this rank for any length of time. They often employ methods that will penalize you in the long run while charging you hundreds or thousands of dollars. Chances are your site will be completely removed from search results sooner than later if you use their "services".

XYZ Corporation says they'll resubmit my site monthly to boost my rank.
Any company that offers to "resubmit your site monthly" is doing nothing. Once a site is in a search engine's database it is aware of you. Listing only works once; resubmitting can actually penalize your site or remove it from the engines.

XYZ Corporation says they can list me in hundreds of search engines.
This is overkill. The smaller engines, which make up a very tiny percentage of search engine traffic (less than one half of one percent), usually get their listings from the big guys. These types of services create a mass amount of junk email and spam for you - not real results.

XYZ Corporation says they can generate 1,000 visitors a month.
Again, this is probably a scam. If your traffic is made up of visitors who have been misled, they are going to leave your site and not purchase your products. 10 clients who want to visit are better than 1,000 who don't. Volume is not directly related to sales.
